劇情：
因婆媳關係不好，新婚夫婦安妮和哈羅德在離母親遠的鄉下買了一套舊房，舊房是朋友尼爾介紹的。搬進第一天，尼爾夫婦過來探訪，尼爾講了一“死亡故事”，——瑪麗在凌晨2點，無緣無故拿刀捅死了丈夫亞伯，而且捅了40刀，事後將亞伯掛於倉庫；清晨，警察趕到，瑪麗竟不知發生了什麼，僅告訴警察房間有鬼。尼爾半開玩笑說故事就發生在這個房間。故事近似玩笑，安妮沒在意。
但從第二天，安妮單獨在家時，房間開始發生奇奇怪怪的事情，不時現鬼影；並常在凌晨2點被噩夢驚醒……
